Songstress Nikita Lumet Sings “My Choice”

"You have to come and listen to her Nazz. She has a lovely voice. Hurry Nazz the concert is nearly over." The three lines of her IM and a TP request arrived nearly at the same time from Sylvia. Naturally curious, I stood the virtual me up from the desk and accepted the TP taking the ride over.
When I arrived I typed out a reply, "Can you tell me her name while I rezz."
"Her name is Nikita Lumet. She's just returned to SL and started performing again. Doesn't she have an incredible voice?" She said. I'd turned the sound on while waiting for the reply and nodded my head in agreement reading the IM as it arrived. I sent a reply back agreeing with her. "You should interview her. She's just released a CD in the Netherlands. I can arrange for her to meet you." Sylvia suggested.
I sat back in my chair while listening. She does have a great voice I thought reminding me somewhat of Celine Dion. So I typed out a response once again agreeing with her. "Have her IM me and we'll schedule some time." I replied
In between the concert and our meeting, Nikita had sent me a brief biography which highlighted her having just recorded and released a new single "No Worries" with the label Yummie Records in the Netherlands. It also told me she writes her own songs and that the first album she wrote is "My Choice". In the last line of her bio, she excitedly exclaims, "You can hear her on the radio in the Netherlands now!"
It took us a few days to connect, but we did in IM for this interview. She told me before we started that her time was limited as she had a dance class in RL.
Nazz: You dance as well as sing in your RL performances?
Nikita: Yes, tonight I'm going to for ballet lessons and tomorrow Salsa.
Nazz: I understand that you'd left SL for awhile ... why did you leave?
Nikita: I was out yes. I was ill and had to take too many meds. Now I'm totally okay.
Nazz: How long have you been singing and performing?
Nikita: More than a year in SL and in RL 8 years.
Nazz: I understand to that you have a newly released CD … what's the title?
Nikita: My RL album came out this month. It's called "My Choice" and it has thirteen tracks. All the songs are written by myself, the text and melody.
Nazz: What was your inspiration for the album?
Nikita: My life and the beliefs I have. So in what I believe in and that there is more. I don't have love songs.
Nazz: Did you draw any inspiration from SL for any of the songs?
Nikita: Yes, the Second Life song. It tells how you can feel on a virtual stage and that it feels like a dream. And the funny thing is that all my concerts are in English and people don't really know that I'm Dutch. So I feel one with my audience.
Nazz: What are your plans for performing in SL?
Nikita: I'd like to do greater events, and to sell my album … to make my name so that people know my music.
Nazz: Do you have a favorite venue?
Nikita: I like Poseidon's Treasure, the venue looks good and the stage is awesome. They make it fit me with some great pictures. But there are more venues coming of course.
Nazz: What has been your most memorable moment in SL?
Nikita: I think at this moment of the big event from the talent show, I just forgot the name *laughs*
